Rose perfumes
Rose is one of perfumery’s two great florals, alongside jasmine. Depending on the variety and what surrounds it, it can smell fresh and green, jammy and fruity, or soft and powdery. In classic florals it usually works with jasmine rather than alone, which is why many rose perfumes don’t smell like a single flower. Editorial inference
