What Miss Dior smells like
Editorial inference
It opens straight into rose: a jammy, honeyed Centifolia rose from Grasse with a hint of pepper. Vanilla and almond-like tonka soon wrap around it, and it settles into milky sandalwood with a touch of earthy patchouli and rosewood. Dior calls it a vanilla chypre; in practice it reads as a creamy, pretty rose rather than a dark or dry one.
Miss Dior notes

- Centifolia rose absolute
- Base notes
- vanilla, tonka bean absolute, sandalwood, patchouli, rosewood
Dior lists no top notes for this version; the rose is there from the first spray. The 2021 version by François Demachy had a different pyramid: iris, peony and lily of the valley on top, rose with apricot and peach in the heart, and vanilla, musk, tonka, sandalwood and benzoin in the base.

Based on the Eau de Parfum concentration, a vanilla, tonka, sandalwood and patchouli base, and early wear reports on Fragrantica. This version launched in August 2026, so reports are still few and mixed: some reviewers say it lasts well, others find it sits close to the skin within a few hours. Skin, climate and how much you spray all move these numbers, which is one more reason to try a sample before a bottle.
To get more from a bottle, see where to spray and how to make perfume last longer, how to layer it with another scent, and how to store it so it doesn’t go off.

You loved the 2021 Miss Dior’s powdery iris and fruit, because this version smells different, or sweet vanilla florals feel too girlish to you.
Which Miss Dior is this?
Editorial inference
Miss Dior is one of the most confusing names in perfume. Dior has reworked the Eau de Parfum several times, in 2012, 2017, 2021 and 2026, and sold each under the same name in very similar bottles. This page covers the current version, launched in August 2026 and composed by Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s perfumer since 2021.
The 2021 version by François Demachy, which many people still own, was powdery and fruity: iris, peony and lily of the valley, then rose with apricot and peach. The 2026 version swaps those for a richer rose with vanilla and tonka, and brings back patchouli, which the 2021 version left out. The new bottle’s bow is narrower and flatter, with a sharper houndstooth pattern. Some stores still sell 2021 stock, so check that the listing mentions vanilla and sandalwood rather than iris and peony.
The name has a longer history too. The original Miss Dior of 1947, a green chypre by Paul Vacher and Jean Carles, is still sold as Miss Dior Originale. Miss Dior Chérie (2005), a fruity gourmand, was renamed plain Miss Dior around 2012, and today’s line grew from it.
Other versions are separate perfumes. Blooming Bouquet (2014) is a light, fresh floral Eau de Toilette, Miss Dior Parfum (2024) adds wild strawberry and jasmine over patchouli and amber, and Miss Dior Essence (2025) is a darker take with blackberry, jasmine sambac and oak.

Miss Dior questions
What does Miss Dior smell like?
A soft, sweet rose. The current Eau de Parfum pairs a honeyed Grasse rose with creamy vanilla, almond-like tonka and milky sandalwood, with a little patchouli underneath. It’s romantic and creamy rather than fresh or dark.
Is the new Miss Dior different from the old one?
Yes. The 2026 version by Francis Kurkdjian is a richer rose with vanilla, tonka and patchouli. The 2021 version by François Demachy was more powdery and fruity, with iris, peony, apricot and peach. The bottles look almost the same, so check the notes before you buy.
Miss Dior or J’adore?
Choose Miss Dior for a soft, sweet rose with vanilla, and J’adore for a big, sunny bouquet of ylang-ylang, rose and jasmine. J’adore is brighter and more radiant; Miss Dior is creamier and cosier.
Miss Dior Eau de Parfum or Blooming Bouquet?
They’re different perfumes. Blooming Bouquet is a light, fresh floral Eau de Toilette for daytime and warm weather. The Eau de Parfum is richer and sweeter, with vanilla and sandalwood.
How long does Miss Dior last?
Early reports on the 2026 version suggest about five to seven hours on skin, though they vary: some people find it fades to a skin scent within a few hours. Spraying clothes or hair helps a soft rose like this last longer.
