How they differ Editorial inference
What they share
Both are Dior Eaux de Parfum built around flowers, both use rose, and both are easy, polished perfumes that suit most occasions. Neither is dark or difficult, which is why they’re so often the two a Dior counter suggests first.
Miss Dior: one rose, made creamy
The current Miss Dior, reworked by Francis Kurkdjian in 2026, focuses on a single honeyed Grasse rose with a hint of pepper. Vanilla and almond-like tonka make it sweet and soft, and milky sandalwood with a little patchouli gives it a creamy base. It’s cosy and romantic rather than bright. Older bottles, from the 2021 version, are more powdery and fruity, with iris and peony.
J’adore: a sunny bouquet
J’adore is a blend of flowers rather than one: ylang-ylang gives it a warm, almost fruity brightness, with damask rose and two kinds of jasmine around it. There’s no vanilla, so it reads fresher, bigger and more radiant, like a bouquet in sunlight. It carries further than Miss Dior and suits warm weather better.
Which should you sample first?
Choose Miss Dior if
You love rose, you want some sweetness and warmth from vanilla, and you like a soft perfume that stays close.
Choose J’adore if
You want a bright, radiant floral with more presence, you prefer flowers without the sweetness, and it’s for warmer days and occasions.
Most Dior counters stock both, so try one on each wrist and compare after an hour, once J’adore’s ylang-ylang and Miss Dior’s vanilla have settled. If you like J’adore but want something more classic, N°5 vs J’adore covers that choice.
