What Idôle smells like
Editorial inference
It opens with bergamot, juicy pear and a little pink pepper, then quickly becomes a fresh, clean rose with jasmine. The base is soft white musk with a hint of vanilla and patchouli, which keeps it smooth and skin-like rather than sweet or powdery. It feels modern and airy, like a rose that’s just been washed.

Editorial inference Typical figures, not our own timing.
- How long it lasts
- 7–9 hours
- Projection
- Moderate for the first few hours, then a soft, clean rose musk close to the skin
- Season
- All year; at its freshest in spring and summer
- Best for
- Everyday wear, the office, daytime and casual evenings
- How much to spray
- 2–3 sprays
Based on the Eau de Parfum concentration, a white musk, patchouli and cedar base, and wear reports on Fragrantica, where many reviewers say it lasts through a working day and can still be noticed on clothes hours later. Skin, climate and how much you spray all move these numbers, which is one more reason to try a sample before a bottle.
Idôle is one of our best perfumes for women.

Should you sample it?
Editorial inference
You might like it if
You want a clean, fresh rose that works every day and at the office, without the sugar of most modern floral perfumes.
You might skip it if
Clean white-musk scents smell like shower gel to you, or you want something warm and sweet for evenings.
The Idôle line, explained
Editorial inference
Idôle launched in 2019 in what Lancôme calls the world’s thinnest perfume bottle. The Eau de Parfum on this page is that original, a fresh rose-and-jasmine floral over white musk, and it’s the one to sample first.
Lancôme has built a family around it, and each version takes the rose somewhere different. Aura (2021) adds vanilla and a salty note for evenings. Nectar (2022) is the gourmand one, with a popcorn and caramel accord over vanilla. Idôle Now (2023) pairs rose with a powdery orchid and vanilla, and Idôle Power (late 2024) is an Eau de Parfum Intense with apple, rose and sandalwood. There is also a lighter Eau de Toilette.
Idôle L’Intense (2020), a deeper version with more jasmine and cashmere wood, is now listed as discontinued on Lancôme’s US site. Treat any of these as separate perfumes, not stronger or weaker copies of the original.

Idôle questions
What does Lancôme Idôle smell like?
A fresh, clean rose. Pear, bergamot and pink pepper open it, then rose and jasmine take over, and it settles into soft white musk with a hint of vanilla and patchouli. It’s bright and airy rather than sweet or powdery.
Idôle or La Vie est Belle?
Choose Idôle for a fresh, clean floral you can wear anywhere, and La Vie est Belle for sweet, powdery warmth. Both are Lancôme best sellers, but they’re opposites: Idôle is rose and white musk, La Vie est Belle is iris, praline and vanilla.
Is Idôle good for everyday?
Yes, it’s one of the easiest modern florals for daily wear. It’s clean and moderate, so two or three sprays work for the office without bothering anyone.
Which Idôle is the strongest?
Idôle Power, sold as an Eau de Parfum Intense, is the boldest current version, with apple, rose and sandalwood. The original Eau de Parfum already lasts well; the Eau de Toilette is the lightest.
How long does Idôle last?
Usually seven to nine hours on skin, and longer on clothes. Many reviewers say they can still smell it at the end of a working day.
