What Her smells like
Editorial inference
It opens with a rush of berries: strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and a tart edge of sour cherry and blackcurrant, brightened with a little lemon and mandarin. It smells like a bowl of mixed berries more than like candy. After half an hour the fruit softens into violet and jasmine, and the dry-down is a smooth, slightly powdery blend of musk, vanilla, amber and soft woods that stays close and cozy for hours.
Her notes
Brand description Source: Fragrantica.
- Heart notes
- violet, jasmine
Burberry describes Her with dark berries, jasmine and violet, smoothed with amber and musk, and lists white woods and dry amber as key notes. Fragrantica’s fuller pyramid names each berry and adds vanilla, cashmeran, oakmoss and patchouli in the base.
How long Her lasts, and how it wears
Editorial inference Typical figures, not our own timing.
- How long it lasts
- 6–8 hours
- Projection
- Moderate for the first two to three hours, then closer to the skin
- Season
- Spring, fall and mild winter days; fine in summer evenings
- Best for
- Daytime, the office, dates and casual evenings
- How much to spray
- 3–4 sprays
Based on the Eau de Parfum concentration, Burberry’s own “long lasting” description and wear reports on Fragrantica, where most wearers get a full day with a softer second half. Skin, climate and how much you spray all move these numbers, which is one more reason to try a sample before a bottle.
To get more from a bottle, see where to spray and how to make perfume last longer, how to layer it with another scent, and how to store it so it doesn’t go off.
Should you sample it?
Editorial inference
You might like it if
You like fruity perfumes and want one that feels a bit more polished and grown-up than a teen body mist, for daytime, dates or the office.
You might skip it if
You dislike sweet fruit notes or want something clean and minimal; the berry opening is the whole point of Her.
Why Burberry Her is so popular
Editorial inference
Burberry launched Her in 2018 as its main women’s fragrance, created by Francis Kurkdjian, the perfumer behind Baccarat Rouge 540. Burberry says it was meant to capture the energy of London, and it was the first Burberry perfume to carry the brand’s then-new logo.
What made it stand out was the fruit. Most berry perfumes smell like candy; Her uses so many berries at once, with a tart edge of sour cherry and blackcurrant, that it reads juicy and fresh rather than sugary. The warm musk and amber underneath keep it from feeling young, which is why it works for teenagers and for their mothers.
Which Burberry Her should you choose?
Editorial inference
The Eau de Parfum on this page is the original and the one most people mean when they say Burberry Her. The Eau de Toilette is lighter and more floral, with a musk and cedar base, and suits hot days. The Eau de Parfum Intense swaps some of the berries for wild strawberry and orange blossom over a warmer, woodier base.
If you want Her sweeter and richer, the Elixir de Parfum adds more vanilla and amber to dark berries and jasmine, and the 2025 Parfum leans on cherry, amber and vanilla. All of them come in similar-looking bottles, so check the label before you spray or buy.

Her questions
What does Burberry Her smell like?
Mostly berries: strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, sour cherry and blackcurrant, softened by violet and jasmine and a warm base of musk, amber and a little vanilla. Fruity and sweet, but juicy rather than sugary.
How long does Burberry Her last?
Usually six to eight hours for the Eau de Parfum. It’s noticeable for the first few hours and then settles into a soft, musky sweetness close to the skin.
Who created Burberry Her?
Francis Kurkdjian, the perfumer behind Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 and, since 2021, Dior’s in-house perfumer. Her launched in 2018.
Burberry Her vs Her Intense: which is better?
The original Eau de Parfum is the fruitier, brighter one. The Eau de Parfum Intense has strawberry and orange blossom over warmer woods, so it suits cooler weather and evenings better.
Is Burberry Her good for a teenager?
Yes. It’s fruity and easy to like, but polished enough that adults wear it too. For a lighter, cheaper first perfume, Marc Jacobs Daisy or Ariana Grande Cloud are good alternatives.
