What Dylan Blue Pour Homme smells like
Editorial inference
It opens bright and watery, with bergamot, grapefruit and a green, slightly milky fig leaf. Within an hour black pepper, violet leaf and ambroxan take over, giving it the mineral, peppery feel of the blue style that Sauvage made famous. The dry-down is where it differs: incense, tonka and musk make it warmer, smokier and a little sweet, so it ends softer and less sharp than it starts.

Based on the Eau de Toilette concentration, an ambroxan, incense and musk base, and wear reports on Fragrantica and Nordstrom, where most reviewers report six to eight hours and several say it lasts through a working day. Skin, climate and how much you spray all move these numbers, which is one more reason to try a sample before a bottle.

Should you sample it?
Editorial inference
You might like it if
You like fresh, peppery blue scents like Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel but want one that’s a little darker and warmer, and usually cheaper.
You might skip it if
Blue, ambroxan-heavy men’s scents already feel too common to you, or you want something light and purely citrus for hot days.
The Dylan line, explained
Editorial inference
Dylan Blue Pour Homme, the 2016 Eau de Toilette on this page, is the only men’s perfume in Versace’s Dylan line. It was composed by Alberto Morillas, who also made Acqua di Giò, and it arrived a year after Sauvage, at the height of the fashion for fresh, peppery ‘blue’ men’s scents.
Every other Dylan is a women’s perfume, and each smells different. Dylan Blue Pour Femme (2017) is a fruity floral with green apple, blackcurrant and rose. Dylan Turquoise (2020) is bright citrus with guava, Dylan Purple (2022) is pear and freesia, and Dylan Blush Pink (2025) is a sweet strawberry-and-marshmallow gourmand.
The blue bottles look alike on a shelf, so check for ‘Pour Homme’ on the label. There is no men’s Eau de Parfum version: a ‘Dylan Blue Eau de Parfum’ is the women’s Pour Femme.

Dylan Blue Pour Homme questions
What does Versace Dylan Blue smell like?
Fresh at first, darker later. It opens with bergamot, grapefruit and green fig leaf, turns peppery and mineral with black pepper and ambroxan, then dries down to warm incense, tonka and musk.
Dylan Blue or Sauvage?
They start alike: citrus, pepper and ambroxan. Sauvage stays brighter and drier and projects more, while Dylan Blue turns warmer and smokier as the incense comes through. Dylan Blue is usually the cheaper of the two.
Is Dylan Blue good for the office?
Yes, with one or two sprays. It’s fresh and familiar, and after the first couple of hours it sits fairly close to the skin.
Is there a Dylan Blue Eau de Parfum for men?
No. The men’s Dylan Blue is only sold as an Eau de Toilette. Dylan Blue Pour Femme is an Eau de Parfum, but it’s a different, fruity floral perfume for women.
How long does Dylan Blue last?
Usually six to eight hours on skin, which is good for an Eau de Toilette. It’s strongest for the first two or three hours, then settles into a soft incense-and-musk trail.
