What Tobacco Chocolat smells like
Editorial inference
It opens bright, with orange over cocoa and tobacco leaf, a little like a chocolate orange. As it settles, dark chocolate and tobacco take over, with a honeyed, cognac-like warmth from the Peru balsam. Early reviews describe the tobacco turning drier and more cigar-like in the dry-down, with patchouli adding an earthy edge, where Tobacco Vanille stays sweet and creamy.

Tobacco Chocolat launched in summer 2026, so there aren’t yet enough wear reports to give typical figures. As a dense amber Eau de Parfum in the same line as Tobacco Vanille, start with one or two sprays; we’ll add typical hours once there’s enough to go on. Skin, climate and how much you spray all move these numbers, which is one more reason to try a sample before a bottle.
To get more from a bottle, see where to spray and how to make perfume last longer, how to layer it with another scent, and how to store it so it doesn’t go off.
Should you sample it?
Editorial inference
You might like it if
You love dark chocolate and tobacco, you like Tobacco Vanille but want something drier and less sweet, or you want the newest Private Blend.
You might skip it if
You want vanilla, you dislike patchouli or the smell of cigars, or you want something for warm weather. It’s new and expensive, so sample it first.
What’s new about Tobacco Chocolat
Editorial inference
Tobacco Chocolat joined Tom Ford’s Private Blend line in summer 2026, made by the perfumer Daniela Andrier. Tom Ford calls it “an amber gourmand” built around its Cocoa Smoke accord, a co-distillation of roasted tobacco leaf and cocoa, lifted by orange essence. The brand describes it as smooth and cognac-like, with a honey-like gleam.
It is sold in the same sizes as the rest of the Private Blend line, from a 10 ml travel spray up to 250 ml.
Tobacco Chocolat vs Tobacco Vanille
Editorial inference
Both are sweet tobacco scents, so they’re the obvious pair to compare. Tobacco Vanille (2007) pairs honeyed pipe tobacco with vanilla, tonka and dried fruit, and stays creamy and dessert-like. Tobacco Chocolat swaps the vanilla for dark chocolate, adds orange at the top and patchouli at the base, and dries down drier and smokier.
If you already own Tobacco Vanille, the two overlap a lot. Vanilla Sex, Tom Ford’s tobacco-free vanilla, is the more different bottle, and it’s the one we’d suggest layering with Tobacco Chocolat.
